It is hoped to have a Seminar following the RTE similar to the one held in Aranamore in 2016, with hints, tips and insights from some of our seasoned long distance riders on how to prepare yourself and your bike for long (and hopefully enjoyable) days in the saddle, whether for just Photo Rallies, entry level Certificate Rides or more extreme challenges (more details to follow).

Rides To Eat
We are a very friendly bunch us Iron Butt riders and one of the main ways we get together is the Ride To Eat (RTE). You do not need to be a member of the IBA to attend, and for anyone exploring the world of Long Distance Endurance Riding, it is a simple way to meet "certified" members and find out if indeed the Iron Butt world is one you should (hopefully) join.
Ireland and GB
RTEs tend to be at Midday and are either at a location where food and beverages can be purchsed or a remote location where you are advised to bring your own packed lunch/picnic.
Europe
Every two months we ride across Europe. Everyone makes their own way there. Some ride straight there and back after while others make a longer trip of the ride. The European RTE coordinator will post a thread with location and date in the title.
The first thread will detail the hotel and photo location. Each rider books their own rooms. Post in the thread if you are attending so a list of riders can be out on the 1st post and the coordinator can judge how many will be at dinner.
All timings are local time.
The European Rides 2 Eat (ER2E) have a different format and are usually based on the 4-5-7 system, where we all meet for a group photograph at 4pm, have the first refreshing beverage at 5pm and then dinner in a pre arranged hotel or restaurant at 7pm.

2021 the ERTE theme was a random collection of favourite roads: Dutch mountains, Portugal, Austria/Slovenia, Norway, Italy.
2019 the ERTE theme was 'centres'; of Belgium, France, Europe(Poland), Europe(Lithuania) and Switzerland.
2018 the ERTE theme was lighthouses and the locations were: Egmond (Holland), Finisterre (Spain), Alexandroupoli. (Greece), Lindesnes(Norway) and Bari (Italy).
2017 the ERTE theme was European Capitals and the locations were: Luxembourg, San Marino, Moscow, Riga and Andorra
2016 the ERTE theme was castles and the locations were: Verdun (France), Ksiaz Castle (Poland), Castle Bran (Romania), Innsbruk (Austria), Predjama Castle (Slovenia).
2015 the ERTE theme was zoos and the locations were: Pieterburen, Netherlands; Gdansk, Poland; Thessaloniki, Greece; Zaragoza, Spain; Zagreb, Croatia
2014 the ERTE theme was adult beverages and the locations were:
Feb: Epernay France - Home of DomPerignon Champagne,
Apr: Aalborg Denmark - Home of Danish Aquavit,
Jun: Pilsner Czech Republik - Home of the original Pilsner Beer,
Aug: Porto Portugal - Home of fine fortified wine,
Oct: Pontarlier France - Home of Absinth.
